Self Love

Many years ago, I was sitting in my meditation chair and I asked myself, “Why is it, every time when I do something and perceived as being wrong, I beat myself up over it, by saying things like, “Oh, that was so stupid. I can’t believe I did that. How much longer am I going to keep doing that, over and over again?”

Also, when I need to go to the bathroom or I wanted to eat something and I was working, I would tell myself, “I’ll just wait until I’m done working. It won’t be too long before I’m done."    Before I knew it, an hour or two go by and I’m starving. I asked myself, “Why do I keep doing that?”

The answer I got back was, “Because you don’t love yourself.” If I don’t love myself, is there something I can do to learn how to love myself? The voice inside, said, “Yes.” I replied, “Oh, awesome! That means there must be a technique or something that I can learn. I heard, “Yes!” 

I replied, “Okay, so tonight, will you show me in a dream and give me the same dream over and over again, until I understand a technique I can use to help me to love myself?” I heard a yes. Of course, I couldn’t wait to go to bed! I went to bed and dreamt step by step techniques of meditation and other things that I used on myself to help me find self-love inside of me. 

Needless, to say, I feel a lot better. Now I make better decisions based on love and how I interact with others. It makes a big difference when you love yourself, then the answers about what to do next, become so obvious. It is interesting how they were hidden before, but now, it’s so easy to see.
