Days 1-3
At the end of May, we decided to visit and experience sacred power spots of the amazing Southwestern United States. These sacred sites are located on the Navajo Nation land of Arizona and New Mexico. We came up with the places we wanted to visit and agreed we would take our time and enjoy the journey. This was not about rushing around, rather, experiencing eternity in each moment.
We prepared our pop-up tent camper and filled the SUV with camping supplies. We have a solar panel for additional electric power. We also have gas for the barbecue grill, hot water, refrigerator and the room heater when it gets really cold. The camper has a large potable water tank.
Driving north on Interstate 17 from Phoenix, Arizona to Sedona, we made a decision not to camp near Sedona due to the high temperatures. Instead, we found a National Forest Road, #535, as we meandered on Highway 89A- a beautiful scenic route from Sedona to Flagstaff, AZ. We turned onto the dirt road and quickly found a large campsite among the pine and oak trees.
We set up camp among the pine trees for three days.

Black ravens came to the area. Raven reminds us to be watchful and have acute observation. This is a good sign to start our sacred journey.

Upon sunset, we sat inside our camper and did a meditation, beginning with an ancient Tibetan chant. After our meditation, we prepared for sleep.
The next morning, we had found an interesting yellow flower just outside our camper, that bloomed at 9am and closed its petals at 10:30am. This flower is called a Yellow Salsify. This one was fourteen inches tall. They turn into the puff balls like a dandelion does when they are ready to seed again.

The air was cooler than Sedona and the breezes felt good on the face.
Our journey took us to Page, Arizona and continues in Part 2.
